19-year-old University of Florida quarterback Jalen Kitna was arrested Wednesday after police executed a search warrant in his residence this morning, according to Gainesville Police Department.

GPD says they received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about a Discord user who distributed an image of child sexual abuse material.

After they investigated, it was found that two images were shared from the residence of Kitna. Two other people who live with him were not arrested.

Police spoke with Kitna, who says he thought the images were “legal” to share since he found them online. According to investigators, they discovered three additional images on Kitna’s devices.

The quarterback faces two counts of child exploitation material and three counts of possession of child pornography.

The University Athletic Association for UF (UAA) says that Kitna has been suspended indefinitely, adding in a statement, “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the news involving Jalen Kitna. These are severe charges, and the University of Florida and the UAA have zero tolerance for such behavior.”
