In a horrifying report, Ukrainian outlets are saying that the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has confirmed that Russians are cutting the throats of Ukrainian prisoners after interrogating them.

Confirmation of the horrific practice, which qualifies as a war crime, comes from audio of a Russian serviceman’s conversation which was shared by the SSU.

The video reportedly came from Ukraine’s eastern front, and it reveals a soldier telling a woman in detail how he cuts a person’s throat. He explains that he’s done it plenty of times, and it has to be done at night.

The audio apparently includes him saying, in part, “People who are prisoners of war… there’s no point keeping them because we’ve got all the information out of them. There’s no point keeping them any longer. So… they need to be disposed of.”

The SSU identified the man in the audio as Yevgeny Suchko, born in 1995 and drafted into the military in 2022.
