Purchased Verified Blue Checks are Red Flags Worth a Serious ‘Ick’ According to Hallie Batchhelder

Hallie Batchelder is drawing attention to a new red flag women need to be on the lookout for – purchased verified blue checks.

With companies like Meta and Twitter rolling out options (and requirements for Twitter) for people to purchase verified status, a lot of people are looking legit who are probably less than others.

And Batchelder wants people to know about her newest “ick.”

She explains, “They’re buying the blue checks,” Batchelder adds, “it’s not hitting the same, sis.”

While she explains that she understands influencers who never received the check buying one, Batchelder explains, “Listen, Brian, you have 432 followers,” she adds that when your last pictures are “gym selfies, and they have like 12-15 likes on each of them. There’s no way I’m buying you deserved that blue check.”

  • Elon swore he was going to fix the bot solution on his own, his solution is to completely remove the checkmarks as a whole and then go back to adding them but not making them distinguishable between paid verified users?????

    • They added business checkmarks that are grey and cost businesses $1,000 USD per month, however they excluded big brands out. How does that make sense??? Small family owned business for example fork out $1,000 per month whilst big businesses who can tank $1,000 a month no problem dont have to? It seems counter intuitive.

  • It’s all a mess. These platforms are overthinking everything. Just stay the same, stop messing with your face!
