WNBA Star Brittney Griner has finally been released from a Russian prison.
Griner has been jailed since February 2022, and the Russians did not swap her for another Women’s basketball player.
The swap was made for a Russian arms dealer, Viktor Bout. Bout has been jailed since 2008. He spent a short stint in Thai jail on charges of terrorism until our great nation requested to extradite him for planning to smuggle weapons into the USA.
In 2011 he was caught in a sting operation where he was convicted of aiding terrorists, delivering anti-aircraft missiles, and conspiracy to attack and kill United States officials and citizens. After a jury found him guilty in 2012: he has been jailed … that is until now.
U.S. Marine veteran Paul Whelan remains in Russian custody. Whelan was sentenced to16 years in prison on espionage charges. He’s been in custody since 2018. Biden’s administration had initially sought the release of both Paul Whelan and Brittney Griner.
Biden said they will continue negotiating for Paul Whelan’s release, and added they are holding him for “totally illegitimate” reasons.

I’m sorry but I wouldn’t wish prison on my worst enemy…let alone a Russian prison camp. I understand and absolutely do not condone anything she has had in the past against the US. But let’s she how much her attitude changes now. I know that no one would want themselves or their family members in a f-in prison camp. Let’s recognize that this is still a human who would of gone through torture and probably death if she had stayed there. She is very blessed to be home.

I’m really worried about Paul. And absolutely disgusted he wasn’t part of the exchange. He’s been there since 2018!!! Britney since February of THIS year. She knew what she packed in her bag!!!! She obviously didn’t care & thought she’d NEVER be arrested because she’s a basketball player. And let’s look again at why Paul was in Russia. The claim is she does weed for anxiety. When you step out of the country ,you damn well better follow the laws. Even in this country, cross state lines & get pulled over in states that grass isn’t legal. Watch what happens.
