‘It’s a Cesspool’: Gigi Hadid Quits Twitter

27-year-old supermodel Gigi Hadid announced that she was leaving Twitter after billionaire Elon Musk took over the company.

Gigi Hadid took to Instagram to announce her departure, writing, “For a long time, but especially with its new leadership, it’s becoming more and more of a cesspool of hate & bigotry, and it’s not a place I want to be a part of.”

Hadid apologized to her fans on Twitter, saying she loved connecting with them and adding, “I can’t stay it’s a safe place for anyone, not a social platform that will do more harm than good.”

The supermodel also shared an image of Human Rights Counsel Shannon Raj Singh’s tweet about being laid off from Twitter.

Elon Musk announced plans to cut 50% of Twitter’s workforce last week, receiving immediate public backlash. Eventual plans could include cutting up to 75% of the workforce Twitter had when Elon Musk took the reins.

  • Bahahahahana when was Twitter ever a safe space. It’s no longer an echo chamber of one sided opinions and the bots are getting cleaned out. Perhaps Gigi doesn’t want to admit that half her following are bots.

    • Valid point. Let’s hope she sticks with her promise of staying away from Twitter. There is merit in your point with regards to bots and celebrities

  • Musk is an investor, wherever money goes,
Celebrities are very important in attracting the audience of social networks
