The defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News is underway today.

The trial is expected to include Rupert Murdoch and other major Fox executives testifying.

The lawsuit was filed by Dominion against Fox, claiming that they defamed the company’s reputation after the 2020 election by knowingly and falsely claiming widespread voter fraud through voting machine manipulation – machines owned by Dominion. Additionally, Fox hosts pushed conspiracy theories including that the company had paid government bribes, switched votes and was founded in Venezuela to rig elections for Hugo Chavez.

Depositions for the lawsuit have already led to multiple embarrassing moments for Fox, including an apparent disconnect between hosts and execs. Revelations include that some of the network’s biggest stars actually “hate” former POTUS Donald Trump, who they’ve been loudly supporting for 8 years.

The lawsuit is an uphill battle for Dominion as they have to prove that Fox acted “with actual malice” in making claims against the company.
