Fox News may be playing nice again with former President Donald Trump, but not too nice.

Fox Business this week displayed a poll showing that 61% of Americans don’t want Trump to be president again, and only 38% do.

The survey came from Marist National Poll for NPR and PBS NewsHour, amid other polls showing Trump gaining steam again among Republican-only voters. Marist found that 76% of Republicans do want Trump to run again, and 21% of those voters do not. 89% of Democrats do not want him running, and 64% of Independents.

And even among his formerly solid base, self-described “white Evangelical Christians,” 41% do not want him to run again.

Due to his popularity among Republicans however, Trump may end up in a rematch between President Joe Biden for 2024 if he regains the nomination, but a majority of Americans aren’t enthused about voting for either.
