FACTZ caught up with influencer and YouTube superstar CJ So Cool in Los Angeles this week as he returns for the first time for business in the wake of a harrowing home invasion in January.
When asked about online bullying and how online creators should feel about the intersection between hate speech and free speech, CJ responded, “I’m not gonna lie and say I think about that often, but I am in that space.” He acknowledged that bullies have always made their presence known on social media.
And that the nature of the platforms mean that people misunderstand each other and take things the wrong way easily.
He suggested, “Everyone needs to take a step back.”

I love seeing this! CJ definitely knows how it feels to be cyber bullied. He always keeps and has always kept it honest, real, and raw with us supporters and has dealt with people attacking his character and vulnerability because of it! I have so much respect for CJ, because a lot of things he have gone through, many others wouldn’t have made it out alive. Such a beautiful strong soul. He laughs with us, cries with us, celebrates with us……CJ does it all and it isn’t because he feels he has to, it’s simply because he wants to and for the negative ones who tries to hold “being human” against him are only afraid to be as authentic as CJ is! Thanks for speaking on this. People have to realize that other people are people just as they are and that we all have feelings. Just be kind!
