ABC Cuts Trump Mar-a-Lago Speech Off After Threats of WWIII

On Tuesday night, MSNBC opted not to air the full speech of former President Donald Trump as he returned to Mar-a-Lago from being arraigned in New York.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow said that the network chose not to air the full speech because it was “basically a campaign speech in which he is repeating the same lies and allegations against his perceived enemies.”

She added, “There’s a cost to us as a news organization of knowingly broadcasting untrue things. So, our deal with you is that we will monitor these remarks. If he does say anything newsworthy, we will turn them around and report on that right away.”

And ABC News seemed to agree, cutting away from Trump’s speech as he turned to his favorite new threat – that President Joe Biden means an impending World War III.

The speech mostly replayed Trump’s favorite complaints, including railing against the Judge now overseeing his criminal case – even though that same Judge warned Trump just hours before not to keep making threats.

Cable networks are taking a more conservative approach to air time for Trump speeches ahead of the 2024 election, after they were blasted for over-saturating the news with Trump 24/7 ahead of 2016 and 2020.
