Wyndham Clark wins the U.S. Open for his first major title, closing with an even-par 70 to beat Rory McIlroy by one shot.

As they reached the turning point, Clark maintained a one-stroke advantage over McIlroy with a score of -10. Fowler faced difficulties at -8, while Scheffler struggled to make progress at -7.

However, the back nine brought a temporary separation among the players. Clark showcased his skill by saving impressive pars from the fringe on the 9th and 11th holes. As they entered the final stretch of the course, Clark held onto his one-stroke lead with a score of -10, while McIlroy trailed closely behind. On the other hand, Fowler’s performance suffered as he made mistakes off the tee, resulting in bogeys on the 11th and 12th holes, causing him to fall to -6.

Scheffler’s inconsistent putting, which led to bogeys on the same two holes, effectively eliminated him from the tournament. As he walked off the 12th green, he found himself six strokes behind the leader.
