Florida authorities have identified the woman tragically found deceased following an incident involving an alligator.
In Largo, located within the Tampa Bay area, authorities received a distressing call about an alligator in the water at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Friday.
On Saturday, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office officially named the victim as Sabrina Peckham, aged 41.
A witness named JaMarcus Bullard, who spoke to CNN affiliate Spectrum News 13, recounted his earlier sighting of an alligator carrying a body in its mouth. He stated, “I could tell there was a body in his mouth, so I started recording.”
Authorities confirmed that the 13-foot, 8.5-inch male alligator was humanely euthanized, in collaboration with the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission.
