Over the last month, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has been uncharacteristically silent.

That’s not to say that North Korea has been dull – after all, they’ve launched multiple missiles that have gotten the world’s knickers in a bunch (understandably so).

But the last tangible public furor over Kim, who usually clocks a furor a day or every other day, was last month when he was photographed with his daughter at the launch of an intercontinental missile. Family memories look a little different in their house, but bathing in the glow of a mini-nuke could be considered nostalgic to some.

Since then, though, the violent dictator has been keeping a pretty low profile. It could be that he’s mourning the rapid fall of his American pal Donald Trump, or it could be due to his health – one look at the guy will tell you he’s probably not the healthiest person on the planet.

Either way, more eyes are turning to his daughter, Kim Ju Ae. Can a woman become the new North Korean dictator? Is that the plan? No one seems to know, but there’s one thing you can be certain of when it comes to the Kim family – the more noise they’re making, the easier it is to plan for whatever batshittery comes next.

The silence is ominous.
