Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. outlasted Tampa Bay Rays star Randy Arozarena in an exciting final of the 2023 MLB Home Run Derby.

Vladdy, who hit 25 home runs in the final, is the first Blue Jay to ever win the event.

It looked as though Arozarena could sneak out a victory with his last few swings, but ultimately fell just short.

Guerrero Jr. and the elder Vladimir Guerrero Sr. now become the first father/son duo to each win a Home Run Derby.

It was Guerrero Jr.’s second Home Run Derby appearance. He set the all-time record for home runs in a single event during his first appearance back in 2019.

Earlier on, Seattle’s own Julio Rodriguez electrified the home crowd with 41 first-round homers to set the all-time single-round record at the Derby. Alas, he could not keep the momentum going, as he only hit 20 in a losing second-round effort.
