A woman who had been named ‘Teacher of the Year’ has been arrested after being accused of having sex with a student. Tracy Vanderhulst, 38, who taught at Yucaipa High School in California, was taken into custody on Thursday and booked into the San Bernardino County detention center.

Tracy Vanderhulst has been charged with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and is accused of engaging in sexual activity with a 16-year-old male student. Vanderhulst, who had been named ‘Teacher of the Year’ at the school in 2017, is married and has two children with her husband, Justin Vanderhulst. Her bail has been set at $30,000.
