Long Island dad and meme guru Tank Sinatra says he’s done with tipping, he’s completely tapped out.

Sinatra recounts a recent experience where he was trying to buy a single donut but ended up inundated by a complex tipping program that was apparently the last straw.

Sinatra says, “I can’t do it anymore.”

And he’s not alone. While the need for tipping has increased as inflation has driven livable wages farther out of reach for those in the service industry, tipping culture is swamping average Americans who themselves aren’t awash with ample extra cash.

Eventually, something’s going to have to give. One oft-floated and instantly effective solution would be for restaurants to pay their servers a living wage so they don’t subsidize payroll on the backs of customers.
