Sam Bankman-Fried’s Defense is Bankrolled by Alameda Money he Gifted his Dad

The Alameda controversy marches on.

Money used to fund former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried’s legal defense comes from money that he gifted his father – out of Alameda’s coffers, tax-free.

While still CEO of FTX, SBF transferred millions of dollars to his father as gifts.

Last November, he claimed to have just $100K in the bank, but it’s clear that he’s not without resources.

Forbes announced this week that SBF has been paying his legal fees from the multi-million dollar gift to his father, which was bankrolled by money he borrowed from Alameda Research, FTX’s sister company.

SBF faces 12 criminal charges tied to the collapse of FTX, as well as one additional charge that he bribed the Chinese government.
