Ryder Cup 2023 Preview: Can Team USA Finally Win Overseas?

The Ryder Cup has arrived!

Unbelievably, it has been 30 years since the Americans captured a victory on foreign soil. They will be hoping to change that disheartening trend this year at Marco Simone Golf Club in Italy.

The U.S. dominated Team Europe by a 19-9 margin two years ago at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin and they boast another impressive collection of golf talent this year.

However, Europe is actually the three-way betting favorite at +100, just a shade higher than the Americans at +110. The home side is 7-1 in the last eight Ryder Cups.

The event will start with alternate shot and best ball team matches on Friday and Saturday before culminating in 12 singles matches on Sunday.

These are the matchups that will kick off Friday’s festivities:

Match 1: Sam Burns/Scottie Scheffler (USA) vs. Tyrrell Hatton/Jon Rahm (Europe)

Match 2: Brian Harman/Max Homa (USA) vs. Ludvig Aberg/Viktor Hovland (Europe)

Match 3: Collin Morikawa/Rickie Fowler (USA) vs. Sepp Straka/Shane Lowry (Europe)

Match 4: Patrick Cantlay/Xander Schauffele (USA) vs. Tommy Fleetwood/Rory McIlroy (Europe)

See you on the tee deck.
