Make America Florida, or MAF.

It doesn’t quite have the ring of MAGA, but it’s easy to remember at least, even if it makes very little sense.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis hasn’t declared his intention to run for President in 2024, but he’s already making big plans for when he wins; he wants to MAF.

DeSantis once famously said “Florida is where woke goes to die!” which resounds well with his supporters, but has most of the country scratching its head.

The Florida Governor has spent his time in office battling the culture wars, taking on Disney, parental rights in the classroom and championing the famously offensive and controversial “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Most of his actions are being held up in the court, facing stiff legal challenges over their constitutionality.

But DeSantis operates using blitzes; he’s already on to the next culture war battle before the previous one has been settled, exhausting his rivals and hoping that even one out of every ten serious overreaches lands without challenge. It’s a tactic that’s proven devastatingly effective.

Although he’s not officially in the ring for 2024, DeSantis is already taking his platform national and looking to convince people that he can bring his brand of “freedom” to the entire country if they’ll give him a chance to MAF.

Nevermind the growing crime rates in Florida’s capital city, the higher-than-average COVID death rates after DeSantis re-opened the state early, or any other number of metrics that show Florida is only appealing to certain people – he wants to spread the good word to everyone. And he has a very good chance at making MAF a reality.
