OpenAI is responsible for creating ChatGPT, an AI chat bot rising rapidly in popularity.

And the rocket to superstardom has placed it in fourth place among the most valuable US startups.

Ahead of OpenAI ($29B) is SpaceX ($137B), Stripe ($74B) and Epic Games ($32B).

OpenAI was founded by Elon Musk and several others in 2015.

Microsoft has recently expressed interest in incorporating OpenAI’s ChatGPT into their Bing search engine, which could dethrone Google as the most relied upon search engine.

In 2019, Microsoft invested $1B in OpenAI – and they could start seeing fast returns if its popularity translates well to Bing searches.
