Oilers’ Connor McDavid Captures Third Career Hart Trophy At NHL Awards

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid won his third Hart Trophy (awarded to the league’s Most Valuable Player) at the NHL Awards on Monday night.

He received 195 of a possible 196 first-place votes.

McDavid put together a downright dominant season scoring 64 goals, 89 assists, and 153 points in 82 games.

It was the most points scored in an NHL regular season since Mario Lemieux put up 161 points in 1995-96.

McDavid now joins Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, and Bobby Clarke as the only players in league history to win three Hart Trophies by the age of 26.

Other winners on the night included San Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson who received the third Norris Trophy of his career after a renaissance season.

Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark took home the Vezina Trophy for the top goalie, while Seattle Kraken forward Matty Beniers won the Calder Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie.
