Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray Lead Nuggets To 2-1 Series Lead In NBA Finals

A pair of thirty-point triple-doubles from Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray led the Denver Nuggets to a 109-94 win over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

The Nuggets now lead the NBA Finals 2-1.

Jokic and Murray became the second teammates ever to record triple-doubles in the same Finals game, but they were the first teammates in Finals history to ever record 30-point triple doubles.

Jokic put up 32 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists in the victory, adding to the record books by becoming the first player in Finals history to ever record a 30-20-10 stat line.

Murray put up 34 points of his own, continuing his dominant stretch of play in the postseason.

The Heat hung tough in the first half, trailing by five at the break. Things unravelled in the second half, however, as the Nuggets led by as many as 21 in the fourth quarter.

Jimmy Butler recorded 28 points on 11-of-24 shooting in the loss, while Bam Adebayo continued his strong Finals showing with 22 points and 17 boards.

History has shown that this was a monumental win for the Nuggets on the road. When the NBA Finals is tied 1-1, the team that wins Game 3 goes on to win the series 80% of the time (32 out of 40 instances).

More drama is sure to be present for Game 4 on Friday night.
