Only three players in NBA history have ever managed to capture the Most Valuable Player award in three consecutive seasons.

As we sail past the midway point of the 2022-23 NBA season, it looks like Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is set to join that exclusive list.

All due respect to fellow superstars Jayson Tatum and Luka Doncic, but amazingly, Jokic is again the betting favorite to take home the league’s top honor.

After being around +2400 to win the award at the start of December, Jokic is now -110 to etch himself in NBA lore.

The 27-year-old is microscopically close to averaging a triple-double on the season, posting averages of 25.1 points, 11 rebounds, and 9.9 assists (which would be the most by a center in NBA history) across 42 games.

Jokic is also shooting an absurd 62.9% from the field this year, while his Denver Nuggets lead the Western Conference with a 34-14 record.

Perhaps voter fatigue sets in, or Jokic cools off over the final months of the season, but if it were me, I don’t think I’d be betting against him.
