New Texts Reveal Hunter Biden’s Financial Struggles and Request for the President’s Help

Recently disclosed text messages shed light on Hunter Biden’s financial hardships and his plea for financial assistance from his father, Joe Biden, in December 2018. The messages, unveiled in IRS whistleblower documents, show Hunter expressing his dire financial situation to his uncle, James Biden.

In a text dated December 29, 2018, Hunter informed James that he had exhausted his funds from business dealings abroad, making it impossible for him to cover essential expenses such as school tuition for his three daughters, alimony, food, and gas. He stated his readiness to work tirelessly in New York City to make up for his financial shortfall but stressed that he could not meet his obligations without his father’s assistance.

Hunter also mentioned his intention to move into his father’s Delaware residence following the end of his relationship with Hallie Biden, his sister-in-law turned lover. He explained that Hallie would not permit him to stay in their house or reimburse him for any money, prompting him to explore living arrangements closer to his father, where he could continue teaching at the University of Pennsylvania and possibly develop another course.

James Biden responded positively, suggesting that with some support from Joe Biden, the new arrangement could work. He emphasized the need for a “safe harbor” and expressed willingness to collaborate with Joe to make it happen.

These text messages were part of the House Ways and Means Committee’s documents, which also revealed Hunter’s involvement in various influence-peddling schemes and business dealings with foreign entities. The messages add complexity to an earlier exchange in which Hunter claimed to have given “half” of his salary to his father in January 2019, implying ongoing financial challenges within the Biden family.
