It’s an uncomfortable blast from the past.

“The Crown” is filming its latest season, and parts of Princess Diana’s deadly car crash will apparently be featured.

We know this because Netflix crews were photographed filming in Paris this week, shooting a scene right around the Pond de l’Alma tunnel. The same place where Princess Di’s driver crashed in 1997 while they fled paparazzi.

The production team appears to be retracing her car’s last path, filming the scene as it happened. Photographers on motorcycles are surrounding the Mercedes-Benz sedan in pictures taken of the crew.

It’s unclear how her death will be portrayed in the new season, but Netflix told TMZ that they wouldn’t be recreating the crash itself.
