BREAKING RIP

Microsoft Disables Internet Explorer for Good

Valentine’s Day wasn’t a day of love for everyone.

Microsoft announced that they had disabled Internet Explorer for good.

IE is gone for good and has been replaced by Microsoft Edge, the company’s newest browser.

The browser first came to life in 1995 as one of the first and easily most popular browsers on the early internet.

The company created 11 different versions of IE until they launched the final version in 2013.

Edge came on the scene in 2015, but was able to co-exist alongside IE – until now.

Microsoft said in the announcement, “With a growing number of websites no longer supporting Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge offers a faster, more secure, and more modern browsing experience that can still open legacy, Internet Explorer-dependent sites when needed.”
