Marijuana Test Cost US Long Jumper a National Title

US Olympic long jumper Tara Davis-Woodhall served a month-long suspension for testing positive for THC earlier this year.

Additionally, she was stripped of her national indoor title.

The US Anti-Doping Agency recently announced the punishment for the athlete, who finished sixth at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

The ban was over last week, but the penalty also includes stripping titles she took at nationals ahead of the sample collection on February 17.

Although a growing number of states are legalizing it, marijuana is still federally illegal and there is heated debate about whether or not its presence in blood and urine tests should disqualify athletes from performing or winning titles.
