Historic Gladstones Restaurant in Pacific Palisades Set to Close After 50 Years

After gracing the shores of Pacific Coast Highway for over five decades, the iconic Gladstones restaurant is poised to conclude its run. With its prime oceanside location in Pacific Palisades, FACTZ has confirmed the cherished establishment is reportedly set to shutter its doors in October. Situated on land owned by the State of California and leased by Los Angeles County, Gladstones has been a beloved fixture. However, contractual dealings with PCH Beach Associates LLC, the selected entity after a 2018 request for proposal, have marked a new chapter in its history. The County’s plans entail the construction of a Frank Gehry-designed restaurant, to be operated by Wolfgang Puck, on the current Gladstones premises. Notably, the decision didn’t receive unanimous consent.

RIP, Gladstones. Thank you for the memories.
