The battle of the AI has begun.

Google announced a $400 million investment into Anthropic, an AI startup designed to rival OpenAI’s popular ChatGPT chatbot.

Former leaders of OpenAI founded anthropic, and they launched Claude, an AI chatbot to rival their former pet project.

The team-up also benefits Anthropic, giving them access to Google’s cloud services.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said of the collab, “We’re partnering with Google Cloud to support the next phase of Anthropic, where we’re going to deploy our AI systems to a larger set of people,”

“This partnership gives us the cloud infrastructure performance and scale we need.”

The AI has not been released but is expected to be in the coming months.
