Sergio Brown, a former NFL player who had been missing since his mother’s death, was taken into custody after a warrant for first-degree murder in her killing was issued. Brown, aged 35, was arrested in San Diego while re-entering the US from Mexico and is now awaiting extradition to Maywood, Illinois, to face the murder charge, according to police. Mexican law enforcement officers had known his whereabouts since at least September 19 and deported him after authorities in Illinois obtained the arrest warrant related to his mother’s death.
