Just in time for the holidays, Facebook is no longer checking Donald Trump.

Although the former POTUS is still banned from Facebook, he has many supporters and support groups on the social media platform.

And now, whatever he says they share will no longer be fact-checked due to a policy they have of not interfering with presidential elections.

The New York Post shared the disturbing-to-many revelation from an internal Facebook memo, and the internet immediately wondered what they were smoking.

The memo noted, “political speech is ineligible for fact-checking. This includes the words a politician says and photos, video, or other content clearly labeled as created by the politician or their campaign.”

As a presidential candidate, Meta’s fact-checking exemption now applies.
