Connecticut Captures Fifth National Title With Convincing Win Over San Diego State

The University of Connecticut Huskies captured their fifth NCAA Men’s National Basketball Championship with a 76-59 victory over San Diego State on Monday night.

San Diego came out strong en route to an early 10-6 lead, but from that point onwards the Huskies took control.

Huskies guard Tristen Newton led all scorers in the game with 19 points on 5-of-11 shooting, while big man Adama Sanogo posted 17 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

The Aztecs, who were down 12 at half time, managed to cut the deficit to six points with seven and a half minutes remaining. Nevertheless, the depth and versatility of the Huskies was too much to overcome.

The game caps off one of the more improbable March Madness tournaments we have ever seen.

Congratulations to the Huskies on an incredible run!

  • Was probably the worst game I ever watched. Felt like WNBA. San Diego was terrible.
