West Virginia Mountaineers head coach Bob Huggins has reportedly agreed to take a $1 million salary reduction after using an anti-gay slur during a postgame press conference.

According to FACTZ sources, Huggins used the derogatory term while criticizing a player’s performance after a loss against Texas Tech in February.

The incident drew immediate criticism from LGBTQ+ advocates and the university community, prompting Huggins to issue a public apology and commit to educating himself on the harmful effects of such language.

As part of his efforts to make amends, Huggins has now agreed to the substantial salary reduction, which will be donated to LGBTQ+ organizations and initiatives.
