Belgium Freezes EUR 58B in Russian Assets as Ukraine Invasion Drags On

Belgium has frozen EUR 58B worth of Russian assets in response to the continued war of invasion in Ukraine. Germany, by comparison, has frozen EUR 5B, and Finland has frozen EUR 187M.

Additionally, they also froze EUR 191B worth of Russian financial transactions.

This makes Belgium the leader in total volume of frozen assets in the European Union, dealing the biggest blow to Russia.

Belgium has also stepped up customs checks on Russia and Belarus.
