Ana Navarro Criticizes Jada Pinkett Smith’s Memoir Bombshells is to “Sell Books”

Ana Navarro, a co-host of “The View,” didn’t hold back her thoughts on Jada Pinkett Smith’s recent revelations during her media tour for her memoir, “Worthy.” The actress announced her separation from Will Smith in 2016, disclosing that they had led separate lives for nearly seven years. Navarro expressed her skepticism regarding the timing and intentions behind these revelations, seeing them as a way to boost publicity for her book.

During Wednesday’s episode, Navarro voiced her concerns about Pinkett Smith’s disclosure strategy, suggesting that her motivations might be driven by financial gain. She referenced Pinkett Smith’s previous tactics, like dropping bombshells to boost ratings for “Red Table Talk” and sell books. She warned viewers to be cautious of anyone who pretends to have a perfect marriage.

Joy Behar, another co-host, intervened, defending Pinkett Smith’s approach as smart. Sunny Hostin, a legal expert and co-host, also came to the actress’s defense, praising her courage and honesty in her memoir. Hostin emphasized that the book contains details of the separation, indicating that Pinkett Smith’s motivations extend beyond financial gains.

Navarro’s earlier lamentation about knowing too much about the celebrity couple’s marriage was reinforced throughout the segment. She expressed her exasperation at being inundated with news and controversies surrounding their relationship, from the “entanglement” scandal in 2020 to Will Smith’s infamous Oscars slap in 2022.

Navarro concluded by humorously stating her desire to focus on reruns of “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and “Bad Boys,” preferring to avoid any further intrusion into the couple’s personal lives. As of now, Jada Pinkett Smith’s representatives have not responded to comments on the matter.
