The new contract spans nine years and offers $360 million, according to several reports.

The news comes with a big sigh of relief for the Yankees, who were facing the prospect of losing one of their biggest players to the Dodgers or Giants as they fight in pursuit of their first World Series since 2009.

Judge’s 2022 season included 62 homers, a .311 batting average, and an MLB-best .425 on-base percentage.

Judge’s stats make him the best-qualified hitter in a full season since Barry Bonds, a remarkable achievement.

Initially, Judge turned down an extension that offered $213.5M (around $30.5M per year), holding out for better terms and more money (about $40M per year).
