Curvy Olivia, a popular TikTok user, posted a video complaining about the narrow aisles on planes, saying that it is discrimination that wider aisles are not built to accommodate larger passengers. The video went viral, garnering close to one million views and over 5000 comments. However, her account was later banned, causing further controversy.

Another influencer, Jae’lynn Chaney, created a Change.org petition titled, “Demand for the FAA to Protect Plus-Sized Travelers,” after she and her husband faced criticism on a recent flight. She believes that air travel should be comfortable and accessible for everyone, regardless of size. However, some people argue that this demand is unfair to the 99% of air travelers who are not overweight and should not be inconvenienced to make a few passengers more comfortable.

The debate surrounding discrimination against overweight individuals is complex. While many people believe that everyone should be treated equally, others argue that promoting obesity as a normal and acceptable lifestyle is not the solution.
