According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Russian people will be the ones who ultimately bring Russian President Vladimir Putin to his knees.

Zelenskyy recently predicted that it would be an uprising from among his own people, which would see his time in power come to an end.

Zelenskyy says people will “find a reason” to overthrow Putin.

In a documentary filmed to mark the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Zelenskyy said, “There will certainly be a moment when the fragility of Putin’s regime is felt in Russia. Then carnivores will eat the carnivore. It is very important, and they will need a reason to justify this. They will recall the words of Komarov, of Zelenskyy. They will remember. They will find a reason to kill the killer.”

He adds, “Will it work? Yes. When? I don’t know.”

The Ukrainian President added that Putin has a “narrow circle” of friends, saying he is in “isolation” and “doesn’t know what to do” as the war drags on.

Zelenskyy and other officials have been warning that Russia will amp up its efforts to seize Ukraine sometime after the one-year anniversary of the invasion.

Oleksiy Danilov, head of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, told Ukrainian TV earlier this month, “Yes, it will be tough, and we have to be ready for it. We must maintain maximum calm.”
