It’s hard to keep up with exactly how much aid the US sends Ukraine to aid their resistance to the brutal Russian invasion.
That’s because Washington seems to approve a new staggeringly huge aid package every few days.
The newest one, announced Tuesday, would include $625 million in additional military aid, including High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (known as HIMARS), 200 mine-resistant vehicles, hundreds of thousands of rounds of artillery and mortar ammunition, and more.
US President Joe Biden detailed the package in a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday, even as Russia formally voted to approve the annexation of four regions in Ukraine.
The White House explained in a statement, “President Biden also affirmed the continued readiness of the United States to impose severe costs on any individual, entity, or country that provides support to Russia’s purported annexation.”
