Ukrainian officials are calling for a ban on Russian state-controlled broadcaster RT and calling them inciters of genocide after a presenter made disgusting remarks Sunday.
Presenter Anton Krasovsky said that Ukrainian children who saw Russians as occupiers under the Soviet Union should be drowned. Last week, Krasovsky noted that children who criticized Russia should have been “thrown straight into a river with a strong current.”
Within hours, the channel’s editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan said that Krasovsky was suspended because of his “disgusting” comments and added that no one at RT shared his views.
This is not Krasovsky’s first brush with international condemnation. He’s been sanctioned by the European Union in the past and remains a vocal and violent pro-war commentator.
