New York City District Attorney Alvin Bragg has signaled to Donald Trump’s lawyers that he may face criminal charges for paying hush money to former porn star Stormy Daniels.
The prosecutors offered Trump a chance to testify before the grand jury that has been hearing evidence in the (potential) case. Offers like this usually only come with an indictment is close.
Trump will almost certainly decline to speak before the grand jury, which is expected.
If Trump is indicted, this would mark the first indictment of a former US President and could change the face of the 2024 presidential election.
