Maria Katiuscia wants to address the out-of-control tipping culture that the United States has engaged in over the past few years.

She explains, “I worked in restaurants for years, I’m very familiar with how tips work. The shit that’s going on today? It’s not right.”

The influencer adds, “a tip, or gratuity, in any service industry, is based on just that – the service you provide to a table or client, and you have to work hard for it.”

She says that people are expecting tips for any work, regardless of how much they deserve it.

This is a growing consensus among those who feel like service has gone downhill even as expectations of a tip have increased.

Others feel that tipping is the bare minimum of what can be done for service workers, who are often severely underpaid in an increasingly expensive world.
