TikTok CEO Shou Chew took to his platform this week with a message: tell your representatives why you want our business.
First, he thanked the 150 million Americans who use TikTok, making sure to mention that that’s half of the country.
Then he acknowledged that some US congresspeople have talked about banning TikTok in the US amid supposed national security concerns.
He asked users to explain in the comments what the app means to them – so he can share their words with representatives when he testifies before Congress this week on what the company is doing to safeguard American data.
