Ticketmaster Under Fire After Many People Sold Fake Tickets to Bad Bunny Concert

Ticketmaster hasn’t been anyone’s favorite mega-corp in recent days after their monopoly business model forced fans to pony up thousands to see Taylor Swift.

But now, they’re under fire again.

This time, because an “unprecedented” number of people were sold fake Bad Bunny concert tickets.

Ticketmaster released a statement over the weekend apologizing for the fakeouts, which caused people to buy fake tickets to a Bad Bunny concert in Mexico City.

The statement reads in part, “This caused an unusual overcrowding and the intermittent operation of our system, which generated confusion and complicated entrance to the stadium, with the unfortunate consequence that some legitimate tickets were denied entry.”

Those who were sold real tickets but denied entry will receive a refund.

Mexico’s consumer protection agency says they have received 1,600 complaints about being denied entrance. They have also noted that Ticketmaster will be forced to pay a fine (of up to 10 of its earnings in 2021) and will have to reimburse fans the price of the tickets plus an extra 20% of the ticket’s cost.
