Taylor Swift Boosts Chiefs vs. Jets To Record-Setting Sunday Night Football Viewership

NBC’s Sunday Night Football showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets averaged approximately 27 million viewers across the NBC network and various streaming platforms.

It is the highest viewership for a Sunday show since Super LVII on Fox back in February.

While the game itself was a tightly-contested affair that came down to the wire, it seems as though Taylor Swift was again a driving force behind the increased ratings.

The musical mega-star was there cheering on supposed beau Travis Kelce for the second straight week. NBC obviously gave the viewers what they wanted, showing Swift dozens of times throughout the broadcast.

Viewership among girls aged 12 to 17 was up 53% for the game, while women aged 18 to 24 (24%) and women older than 35 (34%) also saw drastic spikes.

The game peaked at 29.4 million viewers in the second quarter of the contest.

While some football fans may not love the attention Swift is bringing to the sport, there is no denying that she is helping the league access a previously difficult to attain demographic.

We will see if Swift ends up going to the Chiefs next game on Sunday in Minneapolis.
