It’s confirmed: Swedish House Mafia is playing 2023 Creamfields North Festival.

While that’s certainly cause for fans to celebrate, it may be a giant incoming headache for organizers.

This is the first year that the group will return to Creamfields since 2019.

Because last time they took the stage at Creamfields (in 2019), the EDM supergroup caused millions of dollars’ worth of damages due to their massively overblown pyrotechnics display.

The pyrotechnics they used caused around $4.5M in permanent damages to screens above the stage. People in the front row of the performance even reported having trouble keeping their eyes open from the brightness and heat of the display.

While it’s great to have SHM return to one of their fans’ favorite stomping ground, it’s a little awkward that no one is talking about how horribly it all went wrong last time and how they’ll make sure they don’t overdo it again.
