The Senators Sports & Entertainment board announced today that they had initiated a process to sell the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club.
They have retained Galatioto Sports Partners as their financial advisors.
As one of seven NHL franchises based in Canada, one of the requirements for the sale of the Senators is that they will remain in Ottawa.
Sheldon Plener, chairman and governor of the Ottawa Senators, shared in a statement, “Galatioto Sports Partners has been retained as financial advisors, and a process has been initiated for the sale of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club.”
The statement continues, “This was a necessary and prudent step to connect with those deeply interested parties who can show us what their vision is for the team’s future.”
It concludes, “The organization will have no further comment on this process at this time.”
