San Francisco Undergoing Dangerous ‘Normalizing’ of Drug Crisis as City Conforms to Addiction

A new video shared online is throwing a stark light onto the grim realities of the growing drug epidemic in San Francisco – specifically among fentanyl users.

A former drug addict opens the video by explaining how the process works for addicts.

They shoplift items worth nominal amounts – $20 or so – then walk down to the park where they can find a fence willing to buy it for $5.

From there, they get a sprinkle of fentanyl from their dealer and consume it immediately.

The city has been slowly conforming to the actions of the addicts, from shortening business hours to doing away with hand baskets for shoppers due to shoplifting.

Instead of making it harder for addicts, it’s just normalizing their criminal activities and creating a codependent (albeit well-meaning) cycle between society and addicts.

In order to tackle addiction in San Francisco, residents first have to be willing to look it in the eye – and stop stepping back to accommodate.
