Remote Work Increasingly Popular Despite Return-to-Office Mandate Among Corporations

Several high-profile CEOs have sounded the horn requiring their workers to return to the office.

But remote work is becoming increasingly popular and appealing to job seekers.

An international team of economists found that in some major US cities, remote-friendly job postings are reaching record levels and continuing to trend up.

That flies in the face of what things like JPMorgan Chase & Co’s CEO Jamie Dimon said about remote work, which was that it “doesn’t work” for younger staff or managers.

Data from security firm Kastle Systems shows that office occupancy in major US cities is still only about half of the pre-COVID level, and it could stay that way.

What’s good for the worker may not be good for the money, however, with corporate real estate eyeing a dismal near future – a financial impact that will ripple into the already unstable banking industry.
