FACTZ caught up with the very nice and very humble Ray Romano on the streets of New York City. The conversation began with FACTZ complimenting the actor on being one of the “nicest guys in the entertainment industry” which of course led to the question of how?

“How do you stay so humble? When you start to get some success in the industry – the lights, paparazzi, everything that goes with it. How do you say so humble in the industry and not let it get to your head?” FACTZ asked Romano.

“Well, I have a wife who reminds me I’m still the d*ck she married. That’s a quote.” Adding, “It keeps me grounded.” Romano continues to reveal, “I’m also a very insecure, neurotic person. So, insecure people usually are non-confrontational and want everyone to like them. But aside from that, I don’t know, man. I just, I like people to be nice to me so I like to be nice to people.”

Factz kept the conversation going, wanting to know what’s up next for Ray Romano. “What do you want to do in your career that you haven’t done yet?” we asked.

The actor and writer mentioned the new film that involved him directing for the first time saying, “It was nerve-wracking but I’d do it again.” Adding, “If I write something I’ll do it again.” Admitting that it took him eight years (of on and off procrastination and working with someone) to write his most recent project.

And, although he had his foot in the door given his status in the industry, Romano explained that selling a project still means having to find people interested in it, no matter who you are.
