Las Vegas Raiders star running back Josh Jacobs has agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $12 million.
Last season’s NFL rushing champ has reported back to the team after being absent throughout the offseason and training camp.
Jacobs’ new deal replaces the $10.091 million franchise tag the team placed on him.
A major storyline in the NFL offseason has been the contractual plight of the running back. Jacobs, Saquon Barkley, and Tony Pollard (among others) were hit with franchise tags instead of guaranteed, multi-year deals.
Jacobs is coming off of the best season of his NFL career as he tallied 1653 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in 2022.
Him being back on the field is a win for himself, the Raiders, and NFL fans as a whole. It just remains to be seen whether we will go through this process all over again next offseason.
